2019 Year-End Review from the FS Training Team
Elizabeth Whitaker December 31, 2019
The Freedom Scientific Training Department introduced many advances and
improvements this year, and you were with us every step of the way. As 2019
comes to a close, we reflect on those changes and look forward to what 2020 has
in store.
Live Webinars and Task-Based Training
We brought back live webinars and introduced task-based training events
designed to enhance your skills with FS software and widely-used applications.
Whether you’re a teacher, instructor, or user, you’ll benefit from our broad
range of topics that include:
Getting to know JAWS, ZoomText, and Fusion
Using products in the Microsoft Office Suite with JAWS
Using products in Google’s G-Suite with JAWS
We also posted downloadable instructional demonstrations on using the Zoom
Video Conferencing platform with JAWS, Skype 8 with JAWS, and Google Calendar
with JAWS. You can stream or download our webinars by visiting the Webinars On
Demand page. Also check out the accompanying resources for each training
designed to supplement the learning process for teachers, students, and users.
Freedom Scientific YouTube Training Channel
The FS Training Team also created our own YouTube training channel. We
regularly post short how-to tutorials designed to help enhance your skills on
our products and widely-used applications. Check it out and subscribe today.
Training Email List
Have you subscribed to our low-traffic email list? We regularly send links to
past training events and provide information about upcoming events. Subscribe
on our Webinars page and never miss a training opportunity.
What’s Coming in 2020
We’re excited to offer you even more targeted training in 2020. Thanks to your
excellent suggestions, we are tailoring topics to meet your personal,
professional, and educational needs. Here’s a sneak peek into what the new year
holds.
The first live webinar, Access at Your Fingertips, the Focus Blue Braille
Display, will take place on Thursday, January 16 at noon Eastern. Want a
seamless experience when using refreshable braille? We’ll provide an overview
of the Focus, show you how to connect to your computer or mobile device, and
discuss configuration options.
Register for The Focus Blue Braille Display and join us for this training.
Other upcoming webinars include: Microsoft Teams and JAWS on February 20th and
Microsoft OneDrive and JAWS on March 19th. Keep checking our Webinars page for
more details on these and new training opportunities as they are added.
We’ve also redesigned the FS Training Page and continue to add content to our
Training Center. Use the newly updated JAWS Basic Training and other JAWS
resources, plus the ZoomText and Fusion training pages to get the most out of
your FS products.

regularly and are all platforms where we love to connect with you. We’ve
appreciated your continued feedback throughout the last year and look forward
to hearing from you in 2020.
