It is no exaggeration when I say that Michael Curran is one of my heroes. If I could swing it I'd have flown out to the CSUN conference with the sole purpose of meeting him. He is blind and decided that he would use his programming skills to create a free Windows screen reader, which he began in 2006 which was NVDA. Blindbargains.com has just uploaded a 30-minute interview with Michael. I have not had a chance to hear the entire interview yet. However, what I've heard so far is quite interesting. He talks about their efforts to beef up support for Office in order to make NVDA more desirable for corporate users. He mentioned that they are looking into producing some low-cost training material. It was also mentioned that some users are working on an addon similar to JAWS Tandem, allowing for remote access. He also mentioned that they are looking into support for remote desktop and Citrix, which will give users more options to establish remote connections. Here's the link to grab the file.
