Dealerscope
Whether you’re a sports fan or not, it’s highly probable that during the past
few days you’ve written the names of a bunch of universities on some blank
lines to fill out your inevitably busted bracket. It’s March Madness. It’s what
you do.
In celebration of this ubiquitous sporting event—a 19-day marathon that
features 68 college basketball teams playing a total of 67 games—Comcast
announced the launch of the largest collection of Xfinity Voice Commands
they’ve ever created for a single sporting event. The laundry list of commands
centers around lighting colors in the home that correlate to the 68 teams
featured in this year’s NCAA Tournament field.
Owners of the Xfinity X1 Voice Remote and either the xFi Internet or Xfinity
Home service and color emitting lightbulbs from either LIFX or Philips Hue.
Once connected to the home network and paired with the user’s Xfinity in-home
service, the user will be able to light their room up to the colors of their
favorite team. The simple command, “Xfinity Home + Go + (insert your favorite
college team),” will automatically turn the lightbulbs in the room to the
colors to go with that team. Saying, “Xfinity Home + Go + Syracuse,” for
example, will set all of the lights to orange, while swapping out the Orange
for Virginia Tech will see the lights set to maroon and orange.

tournament listed on their
website<https://www.xfinity.com/hub/tv-video/college-basketball-x1-voice-commands>.
In addition, the content provider noted that college basketball fans will be
able to access other features during the tournament with their Xfinity Voice
Commands, including a full screen takeover of a regional or full tournament
bracket with the command “College basketball bracket,” game summaries, and
news, highlights, and more through the X1 Sports Guide.
