Yes, Voice Dream Reader allows you to download voices from a Capela and Ivona,
each one anywhere from $2 to $5. Oh, Neospeech is available as well; the Paul
and Kate voices you can get on NFB Newsline.

And I might guess that if you download a book from BS that you could use the
better voices VDR offers to read it?
That’s an avenue.
Glad to hear your first day was great. Super glad to hear this Dave.

Bill,
First, my first day at work was rockin'.
I love Voice Dream Reader. It does not, as far as I know, play books from BARD.
However, I use it to download and read books from Bookshare. It's easy to use
and interfaces with Bookshare very nicely.

Hi,
After one year of development, I'm excited and proud to announce that a massive
update, Voice Dream Reader 4.0 for iOS, will be released this week.
New features include a beautiful new UI, library synchronization, image and
rich text support, new reading modes, 3D Touch and multitasking, and much more.
The complete feature list is at the end of this email.
And best of all, the release will come as a completely free update. We love our
customers, and this is my way of saying "Thanks". Thank you for spreading the
word about Voice Dream Reader.
I want to highlight a few features in the release that I'm particularly excited
about.
* Pac-man reading mode. The latest research at MIT and
Harvard<http://voicedream.us7.list-manage.com/track/click?u=aa9e87703f66ce1d03f1ee787&id=3cf4a61b22&e=7f6bd4a60c>
shows that everyone can double their reading speed with no loss of
comprehension. The new technique combines audio, visual, and attention
propulsion that's counter-intuitive. The words disappear from the page before
they're spoken by text-to-speech, forcing the reader to read ahead visually
with audio arriving a fraction of a second later. With some practice, the
results can be staggering.
* Finger reading. Some readers, particularly emerging readers, struggle to
follow even the slowest speed, which is also distorted. With finger reading,
the reader traces the words on the screen with a finger to hear each word, much
like how a parent reads for a child.
* Scanning. On an iPhone 6s or 6s plus, you can press firmly on the fast
forward button while the app is reading -- also called Force Touch -- to double
the reading speed. Release it slightly to return to normal speed.
These are just a few of the many discoveries that await you in the new release.
Permit me to take a moment to wax nostalgia on this project I began more than 4
years ago when I wrote the first line of code for Voice Dream Reader. A few
days ago, I received this email:
Subject: Graduation Day
Hi Winston,
March 29, 2016 will be my last day at Brandeis University and on May 22, 2016
(commencement date), I will graduate with my Masters of Science in Health and
Medical Informatics from the Graduate Professional Studies (GPS) at Brandeis.
In addition, I was nominated and accepted as the Student Marshall for the 2016
GPS which is an honor for me, my family, my fellow students and Voice Dream
Reader. It is your application which has made my educational experience
exhilarating.
I want to reach out to you and thank you so much for the dedication you and
your family have given to the process of creating Voice Dream Reader. Your
application has freed me from the shackles of the printed word which had once
held me hostage. Today, I'm consuming the printed word and enjoying the gifts
of the authors’ knowledge the world brings to me through books from Bookshare.
Thank you again. God bless you and feel free to reach out to me at any time.
Sincerely
Davis W. Graham
Over the last 4 years, more than 200,000 people around the world, like Davis,
discovered that the gift of literacy is within easy reach of everyone. When I'm
working into the wee hours of the night tracking down an elusive bug, I'm
deeply thankful for emails like these.
So, more than your spreading the word about Voice Dream Reader, thank you for
making my life's work fulfilling.
Best,
Winston.
