Now, this is something I wasn't expecting. According to Ghacks.net,
Kaspersky has released a free version of their antivirus program. It
lacks some of the features of the paid version but it sounds like it
includes most of the basic scanning capabilities. Oh, I should mention
that, at this time, you need to know Russian in order to use it as the
interface hasn't been translated into English yet. Admittedly, this will
make the program pretty unattractive to most of us but the article
indicates that other translations should be available soon. Here's the
