Christina,
I did read about this issue, though not from the link you provided. Btw,
I appreciate this particular link as Bob Rankin is a long-time adviser
regarding computing and it's nice to have found this site, thanks to
your post.
The other article that I read about this issue advised people to buy
computers from Microsoft's online store. I agreed with their reasoning.
Microsoft sells what they refer to as signature PCs, meaning that all
they contain is Windows and nothing else: no unwanted software and
absolutely nothing that would be considered malware. My only reservation
about their PCs is that they likely ship with Windows Defender, which is
Microsoft's rebranded version of Microsoft Security Essentials and
anyone who has been reading my messages in this group knows the low
regard that I have for that particular antimalware program. Having said
that, it's no big deal: just make sure you have a better program to
protect you after you set up a signature PC.

I got this from another list andI wanted to share it.It looks like Lenovo is back up to their old tricks again. I believe they released SuperFish a while back. Now, they have been caught at it again.
This link to a Bob Rankin article discusses the latest supposedly fraudulent activities of awell-knowncomputer company.
