The Aira Airport Network is expanding with the addition of five new
airports just in time for holiday travel. Four airports across the
United States and one in New Zealand, serving a combined 40.7 million
passengers per year, now provide free Aira service to any blind or
low-vision traveler.
The latest additions include San Diego International Airport, John Glenn
International Airport in Columbus, OH, Milwaukee’s General Mitchell
International Airport, Tucson International Airport, and Wellington
International Airport in Wellington, New Zealand.
Aira Access is free and easy to use on any iOS or Android smartphone.
Paying Aira subscribers also have the option to purchase Aira’s Horizon
Smart Glasses for a hands-free experience. Anyone who is blind or has
low vision can use Aira for free at Aira Access airports to get
up-to-the-minute flight information, navigate security, use self-service
kiosks, find restaurants and services, identify baggage, and more.
London’s Heathrow Airport joined the Aira Airport Network on December 3.
Heathrow is the third-busiest airport in the world, serving 78 million
passengers per year.
The Aira Airport Network will continue to expand in 2019 to serve more
blind and low-vision travelers throughout the world. Stay tuned for more
great additions in the coming year!
