I like Ninite, I like that their stuff seems to be clean of garbage that changes
your browser and tosses toolbars.
(which I was not optioned to reject with my last instal of c-cleaner, and boy
did that cuase trouble).
However, I will state clearly here, that the version of dropbox on the Ninite
site, is not the same as the install menu version on Dropbox site.
(There is also a downloadable, stand alone version for off-line installs, maybe
that is what Ninite is sharing, I do not know).
I was having a really tough time getting DB to work between my new home email
account and this email account of Dropbox.
Installs from the website were not working, because it was already installed.
But, files in accounts I had created to have (come on it's me) both had
management privs.
So I took it out with c-cleaner. I reinstalled with Ninite.com/accessible. No
go, the files were not getting to the website, nor were they coming down to the
folder.
So I took it out again, from both computers. I installed from the "more links",
"install menu", sections of the website DB, and all is working.
In fact it asked the second computer if it wanted to link with the name of my
home computer, so the folders for all of the DB accounts are there.
I'm not sure if that makes them all linked, and now "who is and isn't able to
upload files" but it's rather cool.
However, I now have folders from others, that my new email can view. Okay it is
me, but if it weren't, that might not be good.
So there's a consideration; fight with that website, and it's worth it.
