Martin,
Let me make sure I understand this situation.
You are closing the pdf file with alt-f4 and you then try to delete the
pdf and you are told that it is still running. This seems to indicate
that Adobe Reader has not closed properly. However, doing a complete
restart should remedy this and Windows should allow you to delete the pdf.
Are you using Adobe Reader to open pdf files? Is it a more recent version?
If you're using Adobe Reader and not Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, you might
want to try removing Adobe Reader and install the newer Acrobat DC,
which is essentially the new Adobe Reader under a new name. I'm not
saying that will fix your problem but it shouldn't make things worse.

Hi: we were recently talking about PDF file. Two strange things are happening with mine. Firstly, Jaws won't read the information when I hit enter on a PDF file. I have to use another screen reader such as system access to get the information.
Secondly: if I try to delete a saved PDF file I get the message that the file is being used. I discovered if I open the file, go to the file menu and arrow up to where it says exit and hit enter, then I can delete the file. If I don't do this, the file can't be deleted even if I have shut off the computer and restarted it again.
