Lillian,
I believe I found the answer to your question about how to read Outlook
messages as plain text. The following link will take you to a support
page from Microsoft with fairly clear instructions. When the article
says click file, just press alt+f. When it says click options, just down
arrow once you're in the file menu and, when you land on options, press
enter. While I haven't tried this to verify it I'm sure it's accurate.
Essentially, you go into Trust Center settings and enable the feature
once you're there.

They are big and clunky. They plug into the wall outlet and also into the

what you wish to connect to the UPS. Depending on what you connect will
decide how long the power supply lasts. For example if you have no vision at
all you probably do not need to connect a monitor to the battery backup.
Most of the better battery backups or UPS units will have an alarm that
sounds every few seconds when the electricity is interrupted. That can be
annoying, laughs! I
Use Outlook 2016 but I will need to research converting messages to plain
text as I do both HTML and plain text.
Hope that helps'

Hi, Merve;
Thanks. Yes, that's exactly the type of battery I was asking about. Thanks
for suggesting those locations. Might that be a big heavy, clunky battery?
I've never seen one of those. Also, would it connect to my desk top with
some sort of usb cable? Thanks for your suggested work around. I'll try that
and let you know how that goes. Now, all I need to know is how to convert
html emails to plain text. I asked a Ms tec and he didn't know. Isn't that
weird? Thanks again for your help. Take care.

Are you asking about an uninterrupted power supply type battery like you
connect your computer to in case of power failure? Those can be found either
locally at an office supply store or online at Amazon or again at an office
supply web site.
Outlook made some changes this week that Microsoft needs to fix. I don't
know if it affected 2013 or not but if it did you may need to use the work
around of holding down the Control + shift keys and tapping the tab key at
the same time. That will take you into the navigation pane where all of your
Gmail sum folders can be found including sent, spam, inbox, and any other
sub-folders you have created . This works great in Outlook 2016 but I
haven't tested it in 2013.
Hope that helps.

Subject: [blind-philly-comp] several questions needing answers
Hi, Folks;
There are a few items for which I need answers. I will list them below.
1 I'm using Outlook as my email client for my gmail account. I can't seem to
be able to find my sent items folder. It should be either in the file menu
or the tab but it's not. I'd appreciate help from anyone familiar with the
2013 version of this email program.
2 Can anyone tell me how to convert html messages to plain text? I get them
from businesses and some blind people as well. Unfortunately, instead of the
intended text they're supposed to contain, all I find are a bunch of rows of
letters and numbers, nothing else.
3 Where do I buy a battery for my desk top computer and how do I connect it
to that computer?
Thanks in advance for your helpful response. Take care.
