This is a story told to me the other day by the driver who brought me home from
the airport the other night. My usual guy was busy so this guy came in his
place. Since I dint know this man I don't believe he knew anything about my
involvement with constellations, but his story certainly resonated with what we
know.
The driver, a recent immigrant from Somalia repeated the following:
My mother told me the story of her great grandfather whose mother was 94 years
old. One day he took his old mother to the forest and asked her to sit by a
certain tree and to wait there until he came back for her. He never returned
and a lion came and ate his mother!
The great grandfather got old himself and when he was about 94, his son walked
with him to that same forest and when they got to the tree where he'd left his
mother, the son asked him to by the tree and wait for him to return. Knowing
what he'd done to his mother, the father said to his son, "You're not coming
back for me, are you?" The son smiled at the old man as he turned and walked
away.
Told exactly as it was told to me.
