At the workshop Chris and I ran recently a woman who was (not visibly) pregnant
was chosen as a representative. During the constellation as often happens, she
experienced some distressing sensations. Although these were ameliorated later
in the constellation the question was asked of us as to whether it is
appropriate for pregnant woman to be representatives. I had not heard any
comments in workshops I've attended, so sought Judith Hemmings and Otteline
Lamet and Peter van Ziulekom's advice. I thank them for their replies and post
them here for others to consider.
Judith's response was simple and to the point:
I have generally discouraged pregnant women from getting too involved in
representing but sometimes they come and they do and all seems well. I just
think there's already such a lot of something wonderful going on I don't want
them to think there's anything more important they could be doing. Plenty of
time to be a representative later
Otteline and Peter's response was more detailed:
It is an interesting question you brought up.
Untill now we haven't given it much thought as we haven't met this
issue yet. At least this is what we think. I noticed in myself
(Otteline) lately, since Peter has this eyeproblem and need all his
energy to get healed, that I felt very reluctant the few moments he was
asked to be a representative in a constellation in our intervisiongroup
and educational-groups.. My feeling was: "No strange energies in your
body now. You never know on forehand what mess you are getting into".
We also hear from many people who are often working with "the orders of
love" , that they seem to have more serious deseases. Now, one can
speculate about the what and how of the relationship between the two,
but the work certainly does something to someone over a shorter or
longer period of time. And we do not know whether this is good or bad.
So, back to your question about a pregnant woman: would you like to
have your baby experience all these influences? I don't think I would.
At least I would be very specific in which representative place to
take and which one to turn down. And again, you never know on forehand
into what energies you will have to take part.
