Hi all. I have been running professional development sessions for a very
progressive rural health service in Tasmania, in a fairly remote area. The
people working there are very dedicated to the community.
At the end of both sessions I have run, there was a request for a community
constellation. This is akin to an organisational constellation, but taking the
rural health agency as one representative, and then adding others - the police,
the education department, local youth, parents, community attitudes etc.
The first time I did it was a year ago, with the issue that in the local region
there were 10 times the state level of fatal car accidents involving young
people. The constellation made some things very clear, and helped the workers
see how the rural health service could be effective in dealing with this issue
in the community.
Now, I cant make a linear causal link to the work, but its an interesting fact
that since that constellation, there was only one fatal accident in the entire
year.
