How beautifully and precisely you articulate your experience. I must confess
that I experience the same thing when I hang out with physicists. Afterwards,
I just want to dip my head into a stony basin of cool well water and take a
long nap!

Hi all,
I was recently fortunate enough to be invited to facilitate a constellation
workshop in Asia. We have lots of Asians in Australia. So I felt ready for
encountering the cultural differences and to some extent I was. However
exposure to the undiluted culture in its own setting is a much more intense
experience. I found that the maintenance of the phenomenological stance
required significantly more effort on my part. I needed to be more vigilant
in bracketing out cultural assumptions. I also found the process of
attunement to workshop attendees took more energy on my part. It literally
felt as if my brain had to make new neurological connections as I engaged
with participants. I hadn't experienced this so intensely since I immersed
myself in the Latin American culture many years ago. It is an experience I
find both exciting and exhausting. My guess is that it will get easier as I
get used to deeper exposure the culture and the new neuronal connections are
in place. I am curious about other people's experiences in this regard.
