AOL EmailAndy will hopefully answer this herself, but I believe you have it
backwards. She does not set constellations and bring in EMDR. She does EMDR
and uses her background in FC's to support the process. Once the underlying
dynamic or entanglement is revealed through EMDR, she uses her knowledge and
skills with FC's (Orders of Love, balancing of giving and taking, right to
belong, etc) to find the sentences that allow a shift to occur.
I am sure this is not as eloquent as she would put it.

Subject: [ConstellationTalk] EMDR, IADC & the dead ones
I understand that Andy Stuck uses EMDR
(Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
in her constellation work and I would like to find out more about how
Andy uses the technique and if there are any others out there in Constellation
Land who use it as well.
I came across the technique a few years ago and even had a brief
therapeutic experience of the eye movement therapy, but has anyone else come
across the amazing discovery of EMDR therapist Allan Botkin of Chicago, in
which he uses EMDR to induce after-death communication?
(New Acronym: IADC = Induced After-Death Communication)
I'm very excited about Allan Botkin's discovery because it dovetails so
deeply with constellation work when the dead ones are represented.
Here is Dr. Botkin's website.
http://induced-adc.com/
EMDR therapy is very effective for treating PTSS and Dr. Botkin was
working with Vietnam Vets who suffered from decades of unrelenting grief about
traumatic events in the war such as having a friend blown away right next to
them, or feeling grief over killing Viet Cong soldiers and especially killing
innocent civilians by mistake.
Back in 1995, Dr. Botkin was treating a soldier named Sam, who had in
1970 befriended and informally adopted a young 12 year old Vietnamese girl who
had been orphaned and was living near the base camp. One day, the girl was
accidentally killed by a truck in the camp in full view of Sam. Needless to
say, Sam was haunted by relentless grief for the next 25 years of his life. Dr.
Botkin was going through the EMDR protocols, and when he had brought Sam's
grief down to an acceptable level, Dr. Botkin decided to give him a last set of
eye movements just for good measure.
Sam sat back and relaxed, but suddenly was grinning and laughing
happily. Dr. Botkin was alarmed and wondered what was happening. Sam reported
that the dead Vietnamese girl suddenly appeared to him in a very realistic
vision, now as an adult woman, very hale and hearty, standing in a background
of lush green meadows. She smiled at Sam, said she loved him and told Sam not
to worry about her and to stop feeling such grief over her.
When he opened his eyes, Sam reported that his grief was gone. Dr.
Botkin thought Sam was hallucinating, but if he was it was one grand
hallucination, since follow up sessions showed that Sam's grief was permanently
healed.
Dr. Botkin began experimenting with these ADCs (After Death
Communication) and he discovered that he could actually induce them in over 90%
of his clients, client who showed irreversible and total healing of their
previous dire symptoms of PTSS and/or debilitating grief.
Now where this intersects constellation work is in the similarity of so
many of the messages given by the dead ones in the IADC sessions, who are very
intent, indeed happily intent on telling the living ones that they no longer
need to carry the burden of the grief and sadness that the original death
caused them.
I just finished reading Allan Botkin's book called
"INDUCED AFTER DEATH COMMUNICATION.
A New Therapy for Healing Grief and Trauma"
published by Hampton Roads.
In comparing Hellinger work with IADC, I look upon the IADC experience
as analogous to reading a book. You sit alone in your chair reading in your
private world. Whereas constellation work is like going to (well, being in) a
live theater performance. I wonder if representatives in a constellation, when
they stand in for the dead ones, are actually expressing a kinesthetic version
of Botkin's IADC phenomenon, which is predominantly visual.
