It is certainly an occupational hazard for those of us who
come in touch with something Great to become confused about
who or what is Great. The pathway up the mountaintop is
littered with the crowns of false gurus. We need to guard
ourselves against the temptation to claim we are the Great Oz,
to conflate excellence and Excellence.
I think John’s distinction. “I did it!” can be parsed. What
is “it?” If we are taking credit for being the medium through
which the healing energy of the ancestors moves, then we are
becoming inflated. The Alpha is what lies on the other side
of the door we hold open. We are not the Alpha ourselves, nor
is the Alpha our instrument, like the artist’s paints.
The skill in being a facilitator is being to recognize the
possibility of a door in what appears to be a solid wall, and
then to bring it into the client’s view. There is a type of
artistry or craftsmanship involved. Some are better at it
than others. Sometimes we are at our best and other times we
clumsily stumble. If “it” is doing an excellent job at what
we do, we should not begrudge ourselves sipping from that cup
because we’re afraid of becoming drunk.
We rightfully need to be on guard against wearing a false
mantle of Greatness. This does not mean we cannot claim a
full measure of credit for our skills and talents. In
comparison to the healing energy of the ancestral line, we are
mere doormen. Let’s not forget it. However, in comparison to
the myriad of “helping” professionals who ply their trades, we
may very well be doing excellent work.
To answer Chris’ question: “What qualities characterise this
deep sense of satisfaction in contrast to those which
characterise inflation?” I would answer: the wisdom to know
the difference.

I think it is quite simple
"Look what I did" = inflation
"Wonderful! What a precious gift for all of us" = satisfaction
I don't that we as facilitators can claim to have done
anything. It is not
as if we are artists, as artists use materials, our 'art' uses
living
conscious beings that have a will of their own. Therefore,
anything that we
'create' in constellation resolution terms cannot ever be
considered to be
ours, but a collective effort made up of colective individual
choices. If he
client won't get there, we cannot take him/her there. It would
like taking
the full credit for opening a door open for someone, we hold
it open and
they choose to walk through. The only thing we can do is
acknowledge our
skill at openings doorways, nothing more.
