Included here below is the update that was written for presentation at
Bernried Intensive 2010, to give an immediate context to this request.
The Why
By offering an underlying support for the training process, ISCA as an
association, can hold the way that this experiential knowledge of
constellation work is passed on to those entering the field: support for the
trainers and for the trainees and ultimately for clients.
ISCA is also positioned to be a core facilitator of ongoing discussions on
new directions and new practices from a network of international sources.
This immediately touches on the ethical groundwork that underlies all that
is carried into the field. Ethics (Ethics Working Group) is inextricably
entwined in issues surrounding training, as is the area of research
(Research Working Group).
The How
A simple set of questions was put together asking about the training
curriculum and then information about the organisation itself. The incoming
information will be sorted and filtered. This process will hopefully help to
clarify what has been useful to past trainees i.e. how specific trainings
have guided and informed this work for people entering into the SCW field.
This leads directly to the need to define the word 'useful', which then
leads to the question of measurement. How does an organisation measure a
good / useful outcome for their trainee graduates? This is an area that
intersects with the ISCA Research Group. This is an ever difficult question
surrounding measurement in the human 'sciences': What is being measured? How
to measure it?
Area / Issue for discussion
This is an area that we would like to open up for attention and hopefully
some discussion: how does an organisation measure a good outcome for their
trainee graduates.
We (the working group) would love to engage in some discussion around these
issues, and would welcome general feedback and comment on the data
collection process.
