Ooh, I like this Michael. Thank you for it!

I don't think intellectual clarity is going to emerge that easily around
this until this aspect of social and historical trauma is addressed in a
direct and compassionate manner. What if constellations are needed around
this historical trauma, which should probably begin by setting up mainstream
science and elements like "psychic phenomena," "alternative medicine," and
"the constellation communities."

Subject: Re: [ConstellationTalk] TED Talks, Rupert Sheldrake and
Constellations
Hello Everyone,
Thanks for all the thoughtful contributions here. Like Leslie, I too
started out in physics and math, and like Thomas, I think there are other
models ot reality (Bohm's certainly), and research within mainstram science
that support constellation work. Epigenetics, for example, and the many
studies discussed in books like McTaggert's THE FIELD and THE BOND and Dean
Radin's exhaustive ENTANGLED MINDS and THE CONSCIOUS UNIVERSE--these exist
and do not depend upon Rupert's model.
I took a major look at all this in three KNOWING FIELD articles recently,
based really on Kuhn's notions of paradigm shift.
Constellations and the Evolution of Worldviews, Part One: Paradigm Shift,
The Knowing Field, June 2011
(Cutting edge science moves in the direction of modeling the striking
effects observed in constellations, but is hampered by struggles typical
around the the times of major paradigm shifts. How can open minded
investigators and constellators open better dialogues? How are empirical
investigations and constellations actually similar?)
Constellations and the Evolution of Worldviews, Part Two: Time, Space, and
Consciousness, The Knowing Field, Dec 2011
(More detailed look the kind of a-temporal, non-local reality necessary to
explain quantum effects; this is very much the same reality necessary to
explain effects observed in constellations; not merely morality is a matter
of social belonging, but also views of reality itself; does scientific
materialism reflect left-over historical trauma?)
Constellations and the Evolution of Worldviews, Part Three: From Clockwork
to Network , The Knowing Field, June 2012
(Looking now at potential "local" explanations for constellation effects,
including epigenetics, social bonding, wireless field effects in bodies,
resonance in workshops. Returning to the 5 effects, it's clear that only
some might be grounded in local effects, while others can take place only
via the non-local, a-temporal "InnerNet." Also, there are further
distinctions about the effects.)
But there's one thing worth mentioning, covered in the second of these
articles. Mainstream scientists are in many ways the descendents of those
who lead the revolution in consciousness that denied the validity of the
largely female healers that were branded as "witches" and persecuted. This
suggests that we need to look at the question of historical trauma in regard
to what is happening today. We are in many ways aligned with the "witches."
What if, instead of turning our backs on this, we ask ourselves if we have a
very precious tool that might help to alleviate it and move this paradigm
shift ahead with less strife?
Best,
Michael

For those who have not seen the news, a controversy erupted between the
organizers of TED Talks and Rupert Sheldrake. It has been active for about
month and comes to a level of completion on 14 April with what is notbeing
called exTEDx West Hollywood.to
It is relevant to the Constellations community because two essential
components of the Constellation process are rejected as illusory by the
mainstream of scientific psychology. The bedrock premise of modern
psychology is that consciousness is product of brain function. According
this model, everything that can be thought, felt, conceived, or done by ahowever
human being originates in the electrochemical operations of their brains.
Accepting this model as fact means that representatives in a Constellation
can only access information present in their own brain. They know nothing
and cannot possibly know anything about a stranger's family members.
Additionally, Hellinger's concepts of Conscience and Orders of Love,
they are restated, are acquired cultural beliefs. A grandchild cannot behis
entangled with the fate of a lost great-uncle whose existence is otherwise
unknown by living relatives.
Sheldrake's theory of Morphic resonance can account for the phenomena of
representative perception and systemic entanglement. Here is the link to
talk on the subject which I turned into a YouTube video:Set
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JydjryhEl5o. ;
In December, Sheldrake gave a TEDx talk in London about his book Science
Free. Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TerTgDEgUE.it
As you can see from the YouTube title, TED censored the video and removed
from its YouTube channel on the grounds that it promoted pseudoscience. That
is what ignited the controversy. The best summary with links to relevantto
sites is Craig Weiler's blog. http://weilerpsiblog.wordpress.com/
In the fallout, TED escalated the controversy by withdrawing the license
the TEDx West Hollywood event scheduled for 14 April and featuring Russellsuccessfully
Targ, Larry Dossey, Marianne Williamson and many others. Without the TED
license, the organizer, Suzanne Taylor, lost her venue. She has
found a new venue and the event is occurring as planned.created
I feel that the Constellations community is inside this debate. On a daily
basis, I perceive dimensions of consciousness that cannot be solely
by my own brain. Just yesterday, I worked with a woman whose ancestors aremissing
Chinese. What I felt, saw and heard is beyond anything I know based on
personal experience. Later in the day, when doing a Constellation for
another woman, I said, "There's a third child with these two. She's from a
previous generation." The woman I was working with knew of no other
children. Then, minutes later, she remembered her grandmother's deathbedgaining
confession which confirmed my sense. That's just yesterday.
The consciousness = brain model is a major barrier to Constellations
acceptance in mainstream medical and therapeutic settings. Franz Rupert's
response has been to delete the "spooky" elements, working only with the
client and the client's intention. He treats ancestors as mental
projections. This is effective in overcoming the barrier. I cannot adopt
this approach, because for me the ancestors are real and working with them
is the most important part of the Constellation.
The conclusion is I recommend members of our community watch the free live
stream of the 14 April West Hollywood event. Here is the link:

still tickets available to attend in person.
