Dear Joseph,
I hope that you took my reflections in the best possible way as I am not at
all heterophobic as I came from a mother and father jus like you. All
homosexuals are born of heterosexuals etc. the rub is being gay in a
heterosexual world is no different than being black in Scandinavia or white
in Soweto. My comments are in response to the "mental disorder books" that
heterosexuals may publish. harking back to the 50's psychobabble of
Homosexuality being a "Mental illness" or "Chosen lifestyle." Who would
voluntarily choose discrimination and all the other angst that goes along
with following your biological impulses against societies wishes etc.If you
really boil down homophobia to its essence it demonstrates 2 things
Heterosexual insecurity and hatred of the feminine. I do not disagree that
there are Heterophobe's as well. In gay ghetto's etc. I am not one of them
as I tried to be straight and married for my first 35 years of my life and
now I've committed to follow my biological impulses for the next 35
etc.There is an exhibit in Norway of 1500 known gay Animal species in the
wild..Hummm This exhibit is banned in America. Do we now have "Same-Sex
Affective disorder in Nature as well. A whole new field for animal
psychiatry to drug these abhorrent critters? Simon Levay's biological
research of autopsies on cadavers suggests that all gay and lesbian humans
have consistent noticeable differences in the Hypothalamus at the core of
the mid-brain (it is bigger) than their heterosexual counterparts etc.
I hope this clears up any confusion. As we all know Systemically there is no
"Me and other only WE together" If we look for systemic exclusion in family
systems. gay people are the systemic jackpot in most family systems with
Judeo-Christian belief systems.

Being an openly gay certified constellation facilitator of 6 years. I've
helped many "humans" with their problems sexual or otherwise. In my first
book God says, Heal, I wrote a Chapter on this very subject called
"Homosexuality Explained". I'll be happy to send a gay philosophical
perspective along to any who would like it.I tried to be straight through
numerous therapies for many years before giving into my fate and destiny of
living life as a Homosexual/Gay man. Systemically, there were many secret
ones in my system that never got to live their dream honestly. I am their
Dream come true to be who I am (biologically) and be open, honest, loving
and sincere. The systemic suffering I see from the guilt, loveless
and institutionalized homophobia based on religious distortions andas
ignorance is astounding. Bert as I asked him directly at my first workshop
with him also called it a Special Fate. In my own Constellation work I was
clearly representing my fathers first wife among others in my system such
my bachelor great uncle hint, hint etc. I hope some of these details bringI
other points of view to light.
There are a small number of lesbian and gay facilitators in our community.

PS On a historical note many American Indian/First Peoples treasured their
gay/lesbian/transgendered members (beardaches) of their tribes in the
highest esteem as healers, confidants, priests (if we must). They embodied
the masculine and feminine and were revered as closer to the Great
Spirit/creator more than a limited mere mortal heterosexual could ever be.
Food for Spiritual thought, as they were never touched by the organized,
repressive religious edicts coming from Europe condemning and killing
everything from their holier than thou approach to life.

In doing my research, I came across an exchange about Hellinger, Family
Constellations, and homosexuality in two books.
The first is "Coming out Straight" by Richard Cohen. The author claims that
being gay results from the pathological condition Same-Sex Adfective
Disorder. He uses Hellinger's statements (e.g. pp. 70-74 "Love's Hidden
Symmetry") to buttress his argument.
The second is a book written in rebuttal, "Anything But Straight: Unmasking
the Scandals and Lies Behind the Ex-Gay Myth," by Wayne Besen. He writes:
"Drawing from the work of Bert Hellinger, Cohen proposes that a gay man can
experience recovery by examining his family structure."
I wrote Wayne Besen's via his website:
"Dear Wayne - I was doing an Amazon search for "Bert Hellinger" and came
across your mention of him in Anything But Straight.
I feel compelled to write you to say that Bert Hellinger and the worldwide
community of Family Constellation facilitators would strongly repudiate
Richard Cohen's claim that homosexuality is a pathology that can be cured
Family Constellations.
I will spare you the details here, but Richard Cohen's claims are an
unfortunate distortion. I regret that your book suggests Constellation work
supports his claims. The opposite is true."
Am I correctly representing the majority of Constellation facilitators?
