It would be a great loss to lose the archive of this group.
Other groups I am on are considering alternatives.
Here’s what I have learned, copied from another group:
*No need to abandon the group. Looks like members and past posts can be
migrated to Groups IO.*
Search for this:

I understand yahoo groups are changing their services soon As I
understand it, they will no longer hold our posts on their website. this
means messages to the group will still happen and the mail will be
distributed via email but we will not be able to look up conversations or
postings online any more :)
