Dear, Annie, Christine and Barbara,
I work with people and animals (horses mainly) and I use aspects of
Constellation work also.
It is a little different as I don't have people representing an animal. I
have animals representing what is happening inside of the people, and
representing people in the clients life also.
Animals have the knowledge and ability to represent what is going on inside
humans. The main animals I work with is horses, they have what is called a
socio sensual awareness that enables them to react to what is going on
around them. There is one horse that I have worked with in over 200 sessions
and every single time the horse was able to show me what was going on inside
the humans life and lead to some form of healing facilitation by interacting
with him (the horse) in some way. People often walk into the roundyard and
begin to cry as the horse can hold a field that takes you to your heart
immediately and out of your head. They are shocked at first and always that
what the horse is showing is exactly what is going on for them at this time.
I have had a lot of fun working with people and their own animals where I go
to their house. Their horse will represent the issue and other animals will
then appear in perfect timing to bring messages and represent what is going
on. I also use the work of Scott Alexander King and his Animal Dreaming
meanings when any wild animals make themselves known in the sessions.
As far as constellations go I have the horse represent people in the clients
life and as we facilitate healing words and/or speak truth, the horse will
change it's behaviour. I have had sessions where the horse will be
representing as flighty and rolling on the ground and after some words
spoken by the client the horse will walk straight up to the client and put
his head in their chest.
This work still amazes me and I find the more I step out of the way and let
the horse do it's thing, the more amazing the result.

Dear Anni - I am very interested in the subject of animals in
constellations. This is perhaps not exactly what was meant by the
discussion, but this is one experience you may be interested to hear about.
About 4 years ago in one of our workshops the man who was working his
constellation, when asked who he felt closest to in his family, replied "I
was closest to my dog" "We used to sit under the table together and she
comforted me when there were family troubles and arguments - I was really
closest to her". Although I had not heard of this happening previously, my
instinct was to ask him to choose a representative for the dog, and it was
somehow the right thing to do, observing the way the "dog" representative
knew his place - some of the time staying very close to the Mother and
following her around, which was confirmed that this was exactly what used to
happen.
When I asked the person doing his work to choose a representative for his
dog, one smaller person in the group eagerly leant forward with a smile on
her face and she was chosen as the representative for his dog. Just
recently, this man confirmed once again that it was the little dog who
taught him how to love.
I shall be most interested to read the article in "The Knowing Field" by
Kari Drageset when it is published.

instantly clear to me that her name must mean dawn or sunrise or rising
light. I finally settled on the name Chiara which means, forgive me if I
not perfectly correct, pure light in Italian. This fit well because herwas
mother had been named Aurora for the night sky northern lights. So she is
called Kiara and this is a good name for her role in my life.
This exercise of a constellation nature that I did to find this name was
very powerful. I felt a deep connection with her horse ancestors when I
doing this. It felt much like a constellation where we get in touch with
ancestors that have a great deal of wisdom and support.
I have brought this topic here because I wonder if anyone else has had
experience with animals in constellations? I also do constellation work
occasionally in my home and I have a white cat who seems to know exactly
when he needs to fill in a space and be a representative. This is always
accepted with a smile and a knowledge that somehow it is just the right
place to have someone.
I am also beginning to work with my horse to see how she might help me in
constellation work as a representative. I know some do this kind of thing.
So anyone else out there who is finding animals in their work?
