Thanks Chris. As the TKF website is currently being re-vamped anyway I can look
into the feasibility of including this facility at the same time. How long will
this email address remain available for me to reach out for help if I need to?
TKF started in 2000 as the Systemic Solutions Bulletin edited by Barbara Stones
and Jutta ten Herkel and I was helping out as deputy editor for some of that
time. I officially took over in 2004 so we have a similar timespan!!
I’ll be in touch again soon
Warmly
Barbara

Thank you everyone for all the validation. I have to say I enjoy it and it
has made me reminisce about various Constellation Talk interactions.
We have indeed had some rich discussions over the years - as well as some
entertaining banter.
I realised that I have understated how long it has been going.
CT actually started around 2002. So it has been going for 18 years.
There has been a massive amount of email exchange in that time. I have 7412
emails in my Gmail folder. I also have zipped files of the conversations
downloaded from Yahoo Groups on December 23, 2019.. That is when they shut
down their archives. I must warn you they are difficult to make sense of..
If I could figure a way to make the emails from my Gmail folder accessible
via dropbox or google drive or something like that I would be glad to do so.
Some people have communicated privately and some people in this forum about
their offers of help or suggestions re moving forward. I think it would be
best to keep the process transparent on this forum. This is a big change to
how we have traditionally used this forum but this is a very special
circumstance.
To make sure that we don't miss the boat, I will make some executive
decisions. However even after I make a decision, I will still be open to
change if someone has a useful suggestion.
At this point, I would like to take Barbara Morgan's offer to archive the
emails on The Knowing Field website. It feels like an appropriate place to
me. I expect Barbara could use some help with the technological side of this.
Hopefully, you will be able to do it in a way that they would be reasonably
easily accessible where people could search them for themes such as
"phenomenology". Barbara, please feel free to use this forum to reach out
for any help that you need. Some of you will notice that I have now mentioned
tow possibilities in regard to archiving the emails from CT. For the moment I
think it would be valuable to explore both options..
Regarding setting up another group below is the information supplied by
Yahoo. Anyone who wants to run with that is welcome. I have just exported a
list of the member's emails to a CSV file. I will only pass this on if
someone has successfully set up a group on another platform. If anyone wants
their email removed from this file, please let me know.
Yahoo Information
Although we do not have any official partnerships with any of the following
groups' sites, we feel that the least we can do for our loyal customers is to
recommend some reliable sites for our users to continue having group
communications. These sites are simple and easy to use.
The site we recommend the most is Nextdoor, as it has a help page advising
how to switch your Yahoo Groups to their site!
Nextdoor - Use any email account to sign up
Facebook Groups - Requires a Facebook account
Google Groups - The admin of the group must have a Gmail account
Groups.io - The paid version allows for importing members from Yahoo Group

Hi Chris
You and I have run parallel paths for some time now and I have loved how our
two international networks have run parallel with great mutual co-operation
amidst at times some very controversial issues!!
As a gesture of gratitude for all your hard work I would be willing to add
to the Knowing Field website the archive collection of emails. I haven’t had
chance yet to read the stream of responses so it could be someone else has
offered an alternative. Let me know if you’re interested in such an idea.
Many thanks for your excellent moderating over the years and I wish you well
moving forward from here.
Warmly

I understand, the march of time and the configurations of
technology..change so fast these days.
Thanks for your quality moderation over the years, and your support of the
constellation community. Constellation Talk is the only online group I have
stayed with - its been so valuable, with great input and discussions from
everyone. It has remained free of negativity, which is highly unusual for
such groups, and reflects both the maturity of the participants, and the
steady moderation in the background.

Hi everyone
As you are probably aware I founded Constellation Talk in 2008 and the
conversation was quite vigorous for many years. It's been a blast!
.
Since the development of social media, like Facebook, constellation talk
has progressively become less active. This shared experience of Yahoo
groups is precisely why Yahoo Groups is shutting down. I personally think
it is time to accept that Constellation Talk has done its time. For me, it
is time to let it go rather than try to recreate it on another platform.
Of course, if someone else wants to set something else up they are welcome
to do so
If anyone wants to use the last 6-7 weeks of Constellation Talk to
organise the setting up of something else up they are welcome to do so.
Alo Yahoo stopped making the archive available some time ago.
I have collected all the emails in a folder on my computer but I am not
sure what to do with them. If anyone wants to make an archive to share I
am happy for them to do that also
Finally, I would like to thank all the participants for a great ride over
the years with all the shared experiences and learnings. The mutual
support has been fantastic. Even the arguments have been valuable
learning esperiences.
So thank you everyone
Stay well
and
Go well
Hasta la vista (my old sign out)
