Hi All –
Emily Blefeld and I are traveling to New Zealand in March at the invitation of
Constellation facilitator Amelia Trotter of Wellington. It’s our first trip to
the region and we are excited to share our Seeing with Your Heart
Constellations at a 4-day Intensive and 2-day weekend workshop.
As we plan for the trip, we are wondering how events in the States are relevant
to issues of concern in New Zealand. With the United States Presidency in the
hands of an emotionally unstable sexual predator, negativity and fear is
saturating the national psyche. As Constellation facilitators and trainers, we
are especially interested in the Standing Rock encampment in North Dakota which
includes representatives of 500 Native American tribes and the new Trump
Administration’s announcement that they intend to remove these water protectors
through military force.
Our work is primarily focused on the effects of transgenerational trauma. That
the destruction of Native lands and the perpetuation of violence against Native
people is once again the overt official policy of the United States government
makes the value of our work seem ever more important.
Our Constellations incorporate pathways of biological memory that carry the
emotions, desires, and wounds of people in our ancestral lineage as a tool to
reveal shared suffering, release inherited blocks, burden, or restraints, and
open to living freely.
Sandra Easter, in her highly recommend new book, Jung and the Ancestors: Beyond
Biography, Mending the Ancestral Web, explains why the dispute in North Dakota
is relevant to all in the English-speaking world:
"The story of our American legacy on the North American continent, as yet not
fully acknowledged, witnessed or integrated, haunts the bodies and psyches of
all who live on this land... The long history of genocide, dislocation, and
trauma to Native people continues to haunt the bodies and psyches of
individuals in the present."
Wherever English is the official first language, the land beneath our feet
holds the bones of people displaced. The Earth is calling to the heart of her
human children, "Basta' ya! Enough is enough!" To our understanding, answering
the call of the Earth demands that we open our perception and awareness to the
non-ordinary consciousness that inhabits and surrounds us. The consciousness
that creates the universe records and remembers everything. The entire record
of human existence is coded into DNA and the epigenetic enzymes that surround
it.
People who struggle to cope with life, feel blocked moving forward, and lose
chunks of their days to wasted efforts or collapsing emotions, may unknowingly
be sunk in the quicksand of shocking and disheartening current developments
grounded in the traumas of our ancestors. Carl Jung spoke of this when he
wrote, "I feel very strongly that I am under the influence of things or
questions which were left incomplete and unanswered by my parents and
grandparents and more distant ancestors."
