Dear All,
I work at a school where one of our student (who transfered from
another school)died this Friday in a car accident. He was with other
4 students (all age 16) from his previous school, and they had all
sneaked out of their houses a little before 4.am and went out with
the car (of the parents of one of them who had taken it without the
knowledge of his parents. This boy who was driving - doesn' t have
licence of course), is from a different country (excuse me for not
revealing more), the others might be all Greeks including the one who
died (I am sure he was Greek). The driver boy is severely traumatised
and he feels guily and wanting to join his friend int death
repeating: " I should be the one who died not him" . He is also the
one who took the body of his dead friend out of the car. I did not
see him yet, but there is a probability that he might come along with
his parents to my worskhop this coming up Saturday. He will submitted
to trial in 10 days. I heard he might go to prison for one year..
I am wondering what is the best way to work with him and his family.
Is a constellation (with his friend who died) a good way to start? Or
would that be too overwhelming to him. I have pictures of his dead
friend (from when he was alive) taht I took from the school as they
had photocopied many and left them for us to pick up, and I am
wondering whether using them in the work together with him is helpful
or too much. Also, systematically, can we do anything to help him? I
learnt that it all depends on the parents of the deceased child (he
was an only child to his parents) whetehr he will be in jail or not
(meaning that they can withdraw the case against him and his
parents).
Any help in this case would be greatly appreciated.
