While I am not trained in SySt, my understanding is that hidden work can
also be:
- when even the client does not know who the person is; and even:
- when it might not be made explicit that an abstract element is behaving
like a person.
So perhaps there is a partial overlap between the terms 'covered
constellations' and 'hidden work'. The first limits rep knowledge. Second
limits client knowledge. It is clear that the knowledge of both may be
limited simultaneously, as well as possibly the facilitator's.
The methods and exact steps should probably not be part of definition
attempts as we will lose ourselves quickly in distinctions.

Constellations, what the Facilitator do is to have a hidden systemic

About "Covered Constellations" as Anngwyn calls it, I don't know about
books, but there's a good experience, as this thread show us. For example,
last year we made some experiments in Peru, Basque Country, Brazil, as a
kind of inputs for the Infosyon's Conference in Vienna, constellating the
same topic without knowing the topic or elements until the end of the
session. Thomas Gehlert was the responsible for present his work in that
Conference about "Quantic Effects on Constellation Work", so I'm sure he
has more information about how the process works.

issue of THE KNOWING FIELD about a Medicine Wheel constellation that
Karl-Heinz facilitated on the eve of the world changing September 11,
2001 events...
So, at this point, as I understand it...there are several options for
doing covered constellations...and in all it is important that the
representatives do not know who or what they represent, and may or may
not be aware of the topic...also the group may or may not be aware of
the topic or who or what the representatives are representing... In
Mexico City Karl-Heinz chose a format wherein only he knew the topic
and the roles for the representatives that he set up...As
co-facilitator, being in resonance with the Field and with him. I
also "knew" as soon as he set them up...but the group didn't until the
end...
There are many reasons for doing covered constellations, and they can
be excellent exercises, especially for new facilitators in learning to
trust the informational field... and for addressing an unknown...or an
issue wherein the facilitator knows that they may have a bias, or if
the client does not want the issue named...in this case the client and
the facilitator know the topic and what the representatives may
represent..but not the group...and so on...this format offers many
options...
And so , in undertaking our new writing project about the Mexico City
" Men,Women and Peace" constellation, which eventually involved nearly
the entire group, I became especially interested in what others had
written about the uses of covered constellations...
