The way it has flowed best in our group is to honor those who signed up
for our entire 7-session program by intending to give them precedence when they
are wishing to work. (We give a big discount to those who commit to the entire
program.) We are using the model that the Fausts use, taking participants
through their family lineage in seven steps, beginning with family of origin in
the first session, then father's lineage, mother's lineage, etc. You can see
it on their site www.constellationapproach.com It is very effective. We have
drop-ins each session as well, but if someone who's committed to the entire
program is ready to work then we give them consideration first. And, we keep
in mind if someone didn't work the previous session they will move up in
precedence the next time. But the fee is the same for all drop-ins, and no
guarantee is made they will set up a Constellation.
But even above that we give precedence to the energy of the participant
and the group in that moment, in choosing who works. If someone is attending
their first experience with constellation work we will usually wait until they
have witnessed or been a representative in someone else's constellation at time
or two. It's also good to assess the level of presence and self-awareness of
the person wanting to work. Then we look for who is most clear on where their
healing lies and with whom in their family, whose issue relates to something in
their present life, and who has emotional energy to work. This makes it easier
to facilitate, and models for the entire group a good way to work with
responsibility. During the day the energy builds and the group can go deeper,
and we also consider the intensity of different issues when choosing whose turn
it is to work. For example, if someone is working with sexual abuse or an
aspect of violence, we'll wait until later in the day for that person's
constellation because the container needs time to build to better hold those
energies.
We treat the group as a living, healing community, and not that this
day of constellations exists in isolation from another. We also hold the
intention that the work is an ongoing part of life for all of us. I feel that
helps all participants do their healing, whether they are engaged as witnesses,
representatives or doing their own work. And we do ask everyone to stay
connected and present, and at intense moments ask the seated participants to
think of their own mother if someone is working a tender mother issue, for
example. We've also found (I think I mentioned this in the previous post) that
it's best to monitor everyone closely, and watch for who was most affected by
the previous constellation. It's often best to move right to that person to
work next.
I want to say that the training with the Fausts has been one of the
best experiences of my life. In the first year you do your own work, and begin
to learn what it takes to be a good representative. In the second year you do
your healing by being a representative, as you can hold the larger awareness of
what's being affected in you through your representation. And in the third
year (which I plan to begin this fall) you begin to rise to the level of the
universal soul and gain awareness of the greater energies of the mystery beyond
the level of story and personality.
peace,
