As well as having wonderful discussions on Constellation Talk we are
getting lots of emails requesting simple help or contact. these days ,
often without giving a personal contact email. This is a discussion forum
for more than 1000 people from all over the globe. When we get these
private organisational emails people who are interested in discussion start
to unsubscribe because they are getting too many irrelevant emails. In
order to maintain the quality of this forum I need to restate and take
measures to support the group guidelines.
This group has clear guidelines which are send out to everyone in an email
monthly. Guidelines 5 & 6 are particularly relevant here. They state:
5. *Do not try to use forum to organise or promote events or activities.*
However it is reasonable to refer to them in the course of conversation or
to draw attention to another forum where an event is being organised. In
special circumstances exemptions will be granted if cleared by the group
moderator first. (info@xxxxxxxxxxxxx) This rule supports ConstellationTalk
as a conversational forum. It protects the group from too many irrelevant
emails as well as from political posturing and power plays.
6. *You can send an email requesting info re practitioners, workshops or
trainings. You must include your own email in your message and a request to
answer privately.*
To get the group back on track in this way I will become stricter again.
That means anyone who accidentally or deliberately does not follow these
guidelines, will be automatically be put on moderation. That includes
people who respond to a private request through the group. If the person
making the request gives their email then that should be used rather than
ConstellationTalk. If they don't give an email they should not be answered.
When a person is placed on moderation any further emails sent in will not
be posted until I have a chance to review them. that can sometimes take up
to a week. In this way I hope things will get back on track fairly quickly
