Wow, thank you all so much for these responses, not only here on the
forum but also to the five different people who wrote me privately. I
feel overwhelmed, but in a positive sense, as if suddenly receiving a
windfall, an abundance of riches. It will really take a lot of time
for me to assimilate all these messages.
I appreciate you, Chiara, telling me about Albrecht Mahr and the
Political Constellations. Yes, that is my real interest. I did Google
him and found a lot of results, but most of them appear to be in
German and unfortunately I don't know much German beyond the basics of
"guten tag" and "ein bier bitte" and "auf wiedersehn"
And Chris Walsh, I really felt relieved when you said that I didn't
have to experience my own personal family constellation in order to
benefit from the process. I think I would feel more comfortable at
first just witnessing a constellation.
And Dan Cohen, I really appreciate you sharing the wealth and depth of
your experience. I especially was taken by this statement of yours:
"the healing images that emerge in Constellations run counter to many
people's pre-existing ideas about these conflicts. As one prospective
participant put it, "I'll gladly come to your workshop as long as you
can promise it will confirm, not overturn, my opinions."
And I also resonate with your statement that the "peace and justice"
people don't really support your work. I've been a peace worker all
my life. (My parents took me to my first antiwar rally against the
Vietnam War in 1969 when I was 5 years old, so peace, protest and
justice is in my genes!)
However, in the last few years, I have really become disenchanted with
the whole peace movement because it's just too simplistic to blame
Bush & Co. for our present troubles.
What I'm learning here is that today's victim can be tomorrow's
perpetrator and that today's perpetrator was probably yesterday's victim.
