I am thankful for this forum. I have learned a great deal from the
many teachers on this site regarding introspection, facilitation and
limits. These are elements of the work. Although I rarely
contribute I have read all the posts since I discovered the
opportunity I have also thought to thank you Chris, for these years
of moderating this site, without pay. I know you have family, your
own clients, students, hours of development that you have committed
to ISCA, and no doubt other personal and professional interests and
demands.
I appreciate that you have prevented 300-500 participants from
sending their brochures and workshop flyers. From many I hear about
what they are doing and I enjoy my private conversations, but I have
a limited computer system and know that if all of those were not
filtered it would be a short time before I had to exclude myself
because I have so many other dedications for my computer. In
addition, when I hear about creating a more complex system I find
that I have a movement of withdrawal. This has been simple. So am I.
Because the chat is open to observers about the work, I am thankful
that when people have (rarely) taken to what simply sounds like
personal insults or pontification...you have through
your "censorship" invited them to take that off the chat. Each
person's email address is available with their posting and I have
often felt that the the conversation I wished to extend was just with
that individual. I have appreciated that feature. I think it is
wonderful that there has been a posting of the ISCA website; those
who are interested have a venue to investigate and participate in the
political formation of the international organization, develop
curriculum, and discuss how the structure of the International
Constellation Community should develop: membership requirements and
fee schedules, governance, organizational and membership regulations,
etc. The ISCA website gives one direct contact for that forum and
discussion.
My impression of the chat thus far, and what has attracted me, is
that the discussion is about the work and the field itself. What
have we seen? Where is there a new development of the method? What is
the interface of other methods with constellation work? How does a
facilitator serve the self, the participants, the field in a good and
healthy way? How would one work with a particular dynamic? This is
something akin to what I have found in what is now the ISCA Intensive
Training and The Knowing Field Magazine. You have not prevented the
mention of either of these. This chat has also seemed to represent
the need of the Field to honor those who came first; there has been
input and discussion of evolving developments and experiences of
those who have seen Bert Hellinger work.
Organizations, by nature, must have some element of being static to
be able to function. A chat is fluid. My impression is that the
ISCA website and Constellation Talk have two different and very
important purposes. I have a sense that there is an intended support,
one for the other, but the purpose and nature is quite different.
Sincere thanks to all the teachers. Thank you Chris for keeping it
simple. I know that when there is truly a sense that there is a
serious need for clarification regarding controversy individuals send
individual mailings to those who are definitely directly involved in
the work. I find myself aware that I am influenced by a field which
has as a part of its fiber a belief that for things to happen in a
good way, there needs to be respect, gratitude and honor, and some
limits. I respect the varied viewpoints, but thought as others have
been kind enough to share their impressions, I should as well. Thank
