Dear All,
Tom's diatribe has brought varied responses from many people.
Each, I believe, according to his/her own reality,
life experience, guilt, sympathy, righteousness.
Rwanda, the Holocaust, Darfur...wherever racial, ethnic or gender
discrimination shows
it's ugly divisive aspect voices like Tom's are heard.
Bert Hellinger has said that he is not out to heal the world, nor does he
believe
that the world needs to be healed.
Actually he doesn't take the grandiose stand of judgment.
What he does is offer us a way to look at the "Toms" person by person.
How would we constellate this event? Along with the maligned does Bert take
the criminals,
murderers, abusers into his heart?
What is the issue?
Who would be represented?
Tom? Bert Hellinger? Adolf Hitler? Tom's father? Others?
I see Tom through the same lens as I see any other of society's walking wounded.
I have no illusions that he is not dangerous to himself and others and that
Constellation Talk as a public forum must be vigilant to respond to hatred
and question the use of this space as platform for abuse. That is not the
purpose of this forum. In that light I believe that Chris is acting
responsibly.
All the best,
Leah Matalon
