john, i agree with you except for the first paragraph. i think there actually
is a command central of sorts for the media. have you seen the compilations of
dozens of local tv news shows from all over the country using exactly the same
words to report on the same subject? such as "go ahead. admit it. you bought
something for yourself this holiday season." that last sentence is close,
maybe not exact. jon stewart featured that recently. there's been another
recently, too, and i can't remember the words. but this is far beyond a
coincidence. someone actually is "choosing the words" for them. i'm not
saying i know how this works, just that something is really strange here. "the
media" is a different animal than it was before the consolidation, and i
believe it is impacting all of us.
