Dear all,
I have been expecting this conversation about recent developments with
Sciencia and the split between Bert Hellinger and the other primary German
constellators to resurface for some time. Now that it is appearing to do so
I wish to make some editorial comments as moderator of this group in an
attempt o maintain Constellation Talk as a safe and effective forum.
I am very aware there have been some very unpleasant interactions around the
globe on this topic. I am also aware that as a genuine forum for healthy
discussion and debate that constellation Talk needs to be available to
discuss these difficult issues. I expect this discussion could easily become
heated. In this environment it is easy for the discussion to deteriorate
into personal insults, insinuations and allegations or self righteous
pontificating. In the past we have done a reasonable good job of containing
this sort of behaviour.
In this discussion I will not contribute to the content so I can remain free
to address process issues such as when people cross the line with
inappropriate posts. Generally I try to deal with this sort of thing by
private emails to avoid publicly humiliating the people concerned. Sometimes
this is not possible because too much momentum has developed in the forum or
because private emails have had no effect. In that case a public email to
the group is called for to address the behaviour in general terms.
People should also bear in mind that while people need to subscribe
privately to join this forum that I do not have an effective way of vetting
subscribers. Therefore it is possible for virtually anyone to join.
(including unsympathetic newspaper reporters!) Therefore it is doubly
important that we all remain scrupulously professional in regards not only
to our behaviour but also in regard to such issues as client
confidentiality.
So I reiterate I will not contribute to this conversation but will monitor
it closely to ensure that this remains as far as possible a respectful,
effective and safe forum in which healthy discussion and debate can
continue.
