my thanks for your encouraging words;
it is great to read you are benefiting from the advance interview.
I imagine for therapeutic professionals it is easy and appropriate to
conduct the interview within the group.
It was a privilege to witness Chris doing it.
Lacking this background myself, I simply do not feel up to that approach.
Gunthard Weber's upcoming workshop in Melbourne does interest me
particularly
because of the advertised topic of the pre-constellation interview
hoping to benefit from his (teaching) experience.

Hi Trish,
being a non professional in the field myself it is easy for me to feel
with you.
Chris's list of points on how to become safer and better practitioners
reads well compiled, including his order
of importance.
For me it is safer to do the constellation work by being at variance
with standard procedure in one aspect:
I conduct the pre-constellation interview in advance of the workshop
over the phone, constructing
the genogram of the seeker while asking for the important facts in the
family background.
Advantages:
The constellation effectively starts then;
you develop a sense of solidarity with the seeker and all her/his family;
relevant facts are less likely to be overlooked;
no 'hot seat' fear with the seeker on the day;
thus lesser likelihood of cracking up;
precious group time is not taken up by the interviews; -better to have a
break instead-
group participants are not unduly influenced but enter the
constellations as unbiased as possible,
movements of the soul can develop in their purest form;
less likelihood for representatives to crack up, as relevant information
is only gradually divulged.
Disadvantages:
The constellation effectively starts then,
you spend extra time and energy in the lead up to the workshop;
you run the risk of being biased by some of the information received or
finding yourself pre-planning a strategy for the constellation.
Fortunately the last disadvantages lessen with experience
whereas the advantages grow.
Looking at the genogram before the day in a meditative way gives an inkling
how (i.e. with whom) to start the constellation.
From then on, as always, it becomes a journey into the unknown.
