Hello everyone,
I've been reading the e-mails with comments, questions, and answers, enjoying
the variety of topics and opinions here at Constellation Talk.
After last night I feel that I want to get some feedback on working with
pregnant women. In the workshop last night a pregnant woman showed up, ready to
work.
She was 7 and a half month pregnant, and I noticed that I felt a little uneasy
as she sat next to me. I've been facilitating constellation work regularly for
the last three years, but this was my first time working with a pregnant client.
All I told her in the beginning was to let me know if she felt uncomfortable
with anything, or if she thought she had enough of the constellation at any
point, and I would stop right there.
I went ahead, asked her a few questions and didn't get a sense of resistance or
anything that would have prevented me from working with her.
I also said that I would check in with her all the time to see how she was
doing while observing.
As the constellation unfolded I realized that it was very gentle. We worked
with the client feeling disconnected from her mother and all women in her
family. She was open to take her place at the end of the constellation and
there was peace in all representatives.
During the constellation I did check in with her a few times, plus I observed
her reactions. The client was fine, moved by the work, but okay.
Does anyone have any thoughts or experiences to share about working with
pregnant women? What else do I need to consider? Was working with her a risk?
Are there articles written about working with pregnant women?
Thank you!
