That's also how I use many of the older semi-accessible ni stuff such as the first 3 absynths and fm7, choose a preset, then with assigned controllers either through midi learn or through assignable controlls I controll the finer aspects in greater detail. Hey Gord, how does that new b3 compare to the older 1? There's a demo of it on my fm7 cd, but it's the older one I guess, since it was from a few years ago, 2004 or 5 was when I got the fm7 cd... Or is that the "new" one you are speaking of? I select a preset from the b4 properties window that is close to what I want. I have assigned the parameters that I need to change, such as all the upper manual drawbars and other stuff like key click, overdrive, leslie speeds, etc. in the synth rack. The original b4 had a template for the evolution uc33 controller but the new b4 II does not. However, nearly every parameter does have midi controller numbers assigned to it so that if you have a midi controller like one of the edirol pcr series or even the motif xs, you should be able to control the drawbars and such.
