The ones I mentioned run on native instruments kontakt, so you would need the
full version of kontakt 5.5 or earlier (version 5.6 and on have no HSC
support), which comes with a 40gb library, which has some good and very usable
orchestral instruments to start with (such as vienna symphonic library (VSL)
legacy stuff).
Since kontakt is not a supported ct synth, you would also need to get a copy of
Steve's kontakt 5 hsc set, along with hotspotclicker 240. Then if you purchased
one of these libraries, you could at least load instruments from the
instruments folder. You won't have access to the library's interface, as each
library has its own interface, unless you made your own spots for it.
Alternatively, most libraries use keyswitches (keys on the musical keyboard) to
activate most functions, such as switching to staccato, activate falls and
slides etc. also, other functions like volume for each mic can be assigned to
midi controllers. You can save these as presets, or use ACT to assign
functions to midi, thus reducing the need of on screen access.
If you have native instruments kontrol, this might all b easier ☺
There is also Garritan stuff which uses the aria player, which is somewhat
accessible out of the box. Not sure of the quality of the new personal
orchestra 5, but when compared to kontakt, version for gets blown out of the
water, just with the factory orchestral patches! This of course is my opinion;
somebody else might think GPO is the best thing since the pops!
PLAY engine is East West’s custom sampler/player, but I’ve never seen it
personally, so can’t comment on its accessibility.
You also have the Sample Tank engine which has some nice stuff, including the
popular, though older Miraslav orchestra sample set. It’s not accessible
either, unless you save custom presets.
Most guys I know who work with this stuff use a combination of libraries and
techniques; thus it is safe to say there’s not a single library or program that
will cover every production need. Hence there are hundreds of orchestral
libraries from the likes of CineSamples, EastWest, ProjectSam, Native
Instruments, Best Service, IK Multimedia, ARIA, West1, MAGIX/YellowTools, Sonic
Reality, SoniVox, Garritan/finale/abbit,, even Propellerheads reason has decent
stuff. But in terms of accessibility, the only 2 ways I can say will get you
quick results are Kontakt 5.5 with its library and third party stuff, or
Garritan/aria.
In some cases, it’s best to get a library that focuses on a particular section
or instrument instead of a generic one. For example, getting TrueStrike for
percussion, Symphonic Strings for string section, Symphonic choirs or Voxos
Choir for voices, so on and so forth.

I mean, with CakeTalking, would you simply insert an instance into your
project and then press F4 to access the presets?

Kontakt has a bunch of third party libraries that are great. The kontakt
version of eastwest symphonic strings and the companion symphonic choirs for
example get great reviews. ProjectSam is another brand that you would want to
check out for orchestral stuff.
