Hi Chris!
well, first, it's all depending on what you want to do with sonar, and second, it all depends on exactly what kind of genres you want to produce and what sort of music you want to produce. yes, you can get a really good professional quality of your work in sonar and you can also do your own surround mixes. I'm using sonar as a big production tool and I have even produced my first album and other artists albums with sonar, well, those artists are only local artists though, smile.

Subject: [ddots-l] Audio engineering?

Hi all,
I was just wanting to ask a general question: How professional can you make
your audio sound in sonar? I am wanting to go in to audio production as a
career, and I am wondering, is anyone on this list in it full time? And, if
so, how is it as a career? Also, I am running a PC with the following
specks:
4GB Ram
2TB hard disk space
Intel dule core processor running at 3.33GHZ
Plus, I have some firewire and PCI ports. Is this enough to make things work
the way they should?
Also, does anyone have any audio samples I can listen to? How far can you go
in sonar? Mixing? Mastering?...
I am really curious to see what the responses are to this...
Thanks so much,
Chris Harrington
