[ddots-l] Audio interfaces that work under Linux

Question posted for a friend. Does anyone on either list have experience working under Linux to do audio production/editing/tracking? I know one can use Audacity, but what hardware has Linux drivers? I've done a cursory search and not found much, but others' actual experiences may yield richer pickings.
