  The Pearl camera that works with Openbook 9.0 has a larger depth of field 
than a flatbed, so handles that problem very well -- but very expensively. But 
also very fast.

    Hello,

    I appologize for this being off topic, but I figure we're probably some of 
the most tech-oriented group of blind folks around. So, are there scanners that 
are better designed for scanning books into the comp more than others? I know 
we should use a flatbed, but are there any specificly made that capture the 
angle of books where the binding pages meet?
