True. And moreover, if you are using sfz, you would need a sample of symbol
choke, and then assign that to a key and then a group which would mute the
other group, which would be the symbols group. Easy to do, but you need
choke samples. Unless you just want to mute the cymbol without a choke or
hand grip sound. Otherwise, adictive drums has this feature lol.

Your forgetting that the symbol continues to sound whether the note is held
or not.

You need an actual sample of a choaked symbol if you want it to sound
realistic.

I myself am actually trying to figure out how to notate a choked cymbal in
Sibelius. However, I'm confused, because I tried notating the cymbal with a
staccato note, but it plays the cymbal as if it were a note without
staccato. What am I forgetting?

Hi I am trying to figure out a way to choke the cimbles in session drummer
or dimension I want to alternate between the choked and the normal sound of
the cimble for example a crash cimble. I could sure use the help since I'm
new to sfz files.
