[ddots-l] Converting MIdi to Audio

Hi!
Just a quick question: When you convert midi to audio, do you record the
events in the midi tracks into corresponding audio tracks, like the
old-fashioned concept of playing the sounds with the sound source plugged into
a stereo to record onto a cassette tape? Or do you convert the file itself to
an audio type like MP3?
