Cool thanks!
But, how do the OMF files get into Sonar? Could you open up the project in Sonar and have each track as it was in Pro Tools? Also, do I need a driver or something for a windows formatted hard drive to be able to receive the files from the Mack?
Thank you,

Brandon Keith

If your school's Pro Tools is Pro Tools LE or HD with the DV upgrade, then they can export Pro Tools projects to OMF format. Sonar can load OMF files. Pro Tools MPowered isn't able to use OMF.

If your school's Pro Tools isn't capable of saving OMF files, then your only choice is to export raw audio in Pro Tools, and load those files individually on to tracks in a new Sonar project.

Subject: [ddots-l] External Hard drives?

Hello,
I have a recording studio at my school that I want to use to record, but it is a Pro Tools run studio. So I'm going to have a friend engineer my stuff while I'm in the studio, but I am wondering what I need to do to a fire wire drive to make it go into Sonar? What do I need to do with Pro Tools to get the data readable by Sonar (with out exporting all 2 hours of 5 tracks)?
So basically I want to record with Pro Tools and edit with Sonar.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,

Brandon Keith
