Perfect Space is a convolution reverb. Convolution reverbs work like this: 1 - You take a recorded sound source and some recording gear into an acoustic space that you want to model; 2 - You position the gear at the point in the space that you want to model, play your signal into the space then record the result; 3 - You then subtract the original sound from the recorded result to create a new impulse file. This file effectively contains the "sound" of the space you were in; 4 - You load your impulse file into something like Perfect Space and use it as a reverb, as your tracks play through the modelled space captured in the impulse file. This is a very simplified version of what it takes to create a really good impulse, but you get the idea. Another trick that you can pull is to hire a very expensive FX processor and play signals into it and capture the results and create an impulse - this won't be the same as owning the unit once you've handed it back to the hire company, but you can definitely grab some presets. When things really get to be fun is when you use any old sound as an impulse file - this won't give you realistic reverb, but will create a lot of interesting sound processing effects if you're prepared to mess around. Best wishes.
