Hi.  Well, I had a long conversation with ADK and I'm going to probably get
a machine from them .  We came up with a machine for under 2k that has
better specs than my desktop or the mac book for what I need to do.  He says
it should work with the Tascam.  Hopefully the mac will sell first.  He said
he'll try to get one in and make sure that the Tascam works with it and if
it does, I'll keep it.

It seems though that a presonus or Motu interface with the mackie control
universal pro would give me less headaches than the Tascam as far as driver
issues go.

That being said, if they're 100 percent sure that it's compatible, then I'll
hold onto the Tascam.  It has everything I need in one box.

Wow!!  Sounds like an expensive way to sort out the issues your having with 
the Mac.  So your going to get rid of your FW-1884?  Why??
