Hi there everyone on the ddots list!
This is Jorgen from Sweden.
Speaking of sound forge and stuff like that, I've been a sound forge user since 1998 and I didn't have any problems at all with it he he. What I like bestin the latest versions is the scrub feature which is used by the J/K/L keys on the keyboard. that's an awesome feature and if we should talk about removing vinyl noise I can recommend Nero wave editor which has a damn good ability for this. and when I'm doing those things like that, I'm doing it with feelings I mean I really listen to just how the original vinyl sounds like before I decide how much I want to remove. In the latest versions of the nero packeges it's more improved and to get to this menus I only use the Jaws cursor to get there. and it's easy enough for me buddies.
Greetings
Jorgen!

I assume you mean with scripts. I have always used Gold Wave as is without scripts. I never found a reason to get Sound Forge because it doesn't seem to have a good vinyl pop and click remover like Audition and the Clickfix pluggin only works with audition. Having said that, Audition seems difficult for me to use for anything other than removing vinyl noise. What do you guys like best about Sound Forge?
Bob.

Actually, I find Sound Forge easier to use than Gold Wave.

I haven't used Sound Forge very much but I believe Gold Wave is much more basic and certainly cheaper. The effects are not very good but for basic sound editing, it's great and easy to use. Try it for free.

Is GoldWave comparable to Sound Forge?

I've been using Gold Wave for 8 years now with no problems. It's a great little editor with several useful keyboard shortcuts.

GoldWave Developer Seeks Accessibility Feedback from Blind Users

By Darrell Shandrow

The developer of the GoldWave audio editing software has expressed an interest in learning how blind and visually impaired people use the software and taking feedback regarding ways in which it may be made more accessible in future releases. All blind and visually impaired GoldWave customers are encouraged to contact Chris, the developer of this popular application in the blind community, with constructive feedback.

Given the numerous issues with Sound Forge 9.0, and the apparent lack of communications between Sony and its customers on accessibility and many other concerns, I may consider switching to GoldWave. All thoughts on this are welcome.
