Hi Len,

Loads some drums as we are going to do a simple drum sequence example.

1: press shift F4 this will put you on Step size tuplet, Now don't press enter 
on the check box as we are leaving it unchecked on this example.
2: whilst still on step tuplet press S for 16th as we are going to use 
sixteenths in this example,
3: hit the note on your keyboard the corresponds with your bass drum, that will 
put a bass hit on the first beat,
4: to move to the second beat press key A three times as we have it set to 
sixteenths,
5: now hit the note on your keyboard that corresponds with your snare drum, 
you have now put a snare on beat 2,
6: to move to the third beat press key A three times as we have it set to 
sixteenths,
7: again hit the note on your keyboard the corresponds with your bass drum, 
that will put a bass hit on the third beat, 
8: to move to the fourth beat press key A three times as we have it set to 
sixteenths, 
9: once again hit the note on your keyboard the corresponds with your snare, 
that will put a snare on beat 4,
10: To take you back to the beginning of the bar so you can listen, just go to 
the number row and press 1 twice then finally hit space bar and the sequence 
should play.     

I'm using Sonar 7 hopefully nothing has changed in the Step Record on the 
latest versions.

When sequencing other instruments using step record, I go to the event view to 
put in the note lengths, this is not necessary with the drums sequencing.

  hi all. i still can't get the step sequencer to work. when i press the 
caketalking shortcut keys they don't work. enter doesn't work on the checkboxes 
and the letters for the different types of notes doesn't work either. i tried 
pass key through but nothing works. can someone please assist me?
