Hey guys, as I mentioned a few days ago, I have these brand new monitors for
sale, I've finally been able to get all the info, so posting it here for those
who were interested.
You can purchase the 2 monitors or the entire 2.1 setup (2 monitors and the
accompanying subwoofer). If you purchase the full package I'll throw in
balanced connection cables so you can properly connect all 3 speakers to each
other.
Each monitor is identical:
Powered monitors
8 inch woofer, 1 inch tweeter
Balanced ¼ inch or XLR inputs, switchable between -10db or +4DBu (selectable
switch
Low frequency Attenuator (0DB, -1.5DB, and -3.0DB)
High frequency Attenuator (0DB, +1.5DB, and -1.5DB)
Use the attenuators to fix small playback issues in your space.
Gain knob has small detents as you turn it, for precise calibration of the
monitors; you don't have to guess where the knobs are matched, you can just
count how many clicks you are moving.
Onboard power switch
The subwoofer is also powered and shares many of the features as the monitors:
10 inch down firing woofer, with tuned bass port for optimal response
Balanced ¼ inch and XLR inputs, as well as balanced XLR outputs
Selectable input range is -10DB or +4DBu
The subwoofer can be operated in standalone mode, or paired with these or other
monitors. It has a selectable cutoff filter that can be adjusted between 80HZ
or 120HZ
The sub also has a polarity switch to reverse the polarity of the speaker for
better location or for best bass response
The gain knob also has detents for calibration to the system.
An onboard power switch is also included for disabling the unit when not in use.
This monitoring system sounds great, comparable to the Yamaha HS8 monitors.
The response is very flat and the monitors bring out detail in content, whether
good or bad, as a true monitor should! The subwoofer with its 10 inch driver
can shake the studio and drop down to the lows with 808 and heavy bass sounds,
a great unit for EDM and hip hop, trap or any other sub heavy producer. But the
system works great as an overall monitoring/mixing system regardless of your
genre, it does great as a high-end listening system as well. Note that while
the bass is tight and deep, the unit is not bass heavy, meaning that the sub is
not over amplifying the bass frequencies, it just has a great speaker and
cabinet that let you really feel the bass along with hearing it; but having
done text mixes on a similar pair, I can say the bass response is great and
accurate for a sub, unlike others that I've tested. But the monitors without a
sub sound just as good; their 8 inch woofers allow them to reproduce the low
frequencies without a hitch!
These are meant to be nearfield monitors, so if you have a small working space
or are working in a bedroom, these speakers are just what you need, as they can
actually help you mix better by providing a more direct path to your ears while
providing greater separation of left and right channels. Furthermore, they keep
a great stereo image up to about 5-6 feet apart!
Note that these are brand new, complete with manufacturer warranty. I will also
provide the buyer with a write-up description of the speakers and the
connectors and switches
