Is that one Ok for the upgrade to Samplitude Pro X3 or Samplitude Pro
X3Suite, with the unbelievable price mentioned?

Hi Stacy.
Nice to meet you.
I really like the workflow in Samplitude. It
seems more powerful and flexible than Sonar's,
although there are some new concepts to learn.
Most important is learning to set ranges, define
objects, and do things to those objects, like
move them backward or forward in time, adjust
their volume, etc. The concept of moving things
around on a timeline is similar to how things
work in Reaper, but I find Reaper too open-ended,
too configurable, with just too many options. I
like things more clearly defined I guess.
Audio editing is definitely more precise than in
the old version of Sonar we're used to. I don't
do much with MIDI, so I can't comment on that
aspect of it really. I'm mostly messing around
with audio, mixing and mastering things.
My favorite third-party reverb plugins are made
by ValhallaDSP. There are great ones included
with Samplitude as well though, and I would
definitely try those first, to see if you like them.
Hope that helps some. It's a little scary
learning a new way of doing things, and really,
the best way is to dive in. I kept Sonar around
for many months, and realized I was going back to
it all the time, instead of learning the new software.
Do you sing or play an instrument? I'm a
guitarist and guitar teacher, but I don't record
myself. I mix and master for other people though.
