Always been able to do that here. Mind you, have version 4 of Final Plug
so, would need to check the new version 5 and see what's going on with this.

Subject: [Jsonar] WaveArts Registration Issue

Mike and others,

See? Contacting companies does sometimes bring results!

I wrote Wave Arts a nice letter, and got a reply back from someone named
Bill within the hour.

ere is what he said, with some editing by me. It sounds like he's willing
to add a shortcut keystroke to start the registration process.

From Bill:
I can understand your frustration. You are correct that the plug-in
interface is entirely bitmapped. I have reluctantly accepted that the only
way to sell audio plug-ins is to make them look fabulous, and that means
fully customized bitmapped interfaces. Because the interface is bitmapped
your screen reading software will not be able to find the Tools button which
opens the menu of options needed to register the plug-in. This menu is
implemented using standard Windows objects, so if you happen to click on it
and open the menu the software should be able to read the menu and the
dialogs that are opened from the menu. Unfortunately there is not a keyboard
command to open these options, but there should be.
We may be able to register the plugs through the registry if you are
comfortable using regedit. The machine ID is unique to Wave Arts, it is a 5 digit decimal number derived from the MAC address of your ethernet hardware.
If you open a Windows command prompt and type "ipconfig/all" it will list
the MAC address of your ethernet adapter under the heading "physical
address". The MAC address is displayed as six two-digit hexadecimal numbers
separated with dashes.
From the MAC address we can compute the machine ID and prepare the registry
modifications needed to register the plugs. I think there is a way to
automate this, for example a file to click on that will insert entries into
the registry, but I'm not sure.
Another possibility is that we fix our software to allow the register dialog
to be opened via a keyboard command. That might actually be the best
solution, but it will have to wait until next week. We will figure this out.
Have a great holiday,
Bill
