That's excellent advice. Whenever I'm ordering anything from the
states, I always specify USPS Air Mail, or anything other than one
of the big couriers. Otherwise, it's very expensive!
A UPS delivery guy told me once that I could save brokerage and
duty charges at the border if I got things shipped UPS expedited,
maybe it was called global expedited. Anyway, I looked into it, but
at least for things costing a few hundred or less, it wasn't worth
it. Anything I saved going through Canadian Customs was grabbed by
UPS in the form of higher fees.
I've never had trouble getting anything through regular US air
mail, and I believe things can be ensured inexpensively too.

If you are in Canada, you may want to advise Dancing Dots to ship your products Express Post rather than UPS. In my experience, the GST Code57 doesn't always get included and you have to pay $400 for the currier guy to let go of your products at the door.
